The club was created by Russel Blount with the help of Gabe Cusack and Emily Alderman. Around the same time, I (Ben Palazzo) also was trying to start a Karate Club, but, not wanting to compete against another club for funds and participation, I decided to merge my Karate Club with Russel's Martial Arts Club. The club became official on February 18, 2015 with Ben Palazzo, Gabe Cusack, JP Tirone, and Emily Alderman as the first Club President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary respectfully.
